More Than Just Art

Berlin · Potsdam · Magdeburg

Long before Solo Semble ever became a stage, one question loomed large for us: What do you do when you simply cannot look away? In late 2022 and throughout 2023, this idea found its voice. Thanks to the dedication of Daria Bardash and our team of musicians, twelve charity concerts were brought to life across Berlin, Potsdam, and Magdeburg. It was the direct action of individuals using their art to help others.

Three cities. Twelve concerts. Late 2022 – 2023. One shared goal.

A Home for Mothers and Children

A portion of the gathered humanitarian aid reached a mother-and-child center in Ivano-Frankivsk — a sanctuary for women who have lost their homes, and for children who have lost their parents to the war.

For Those Who Fight On

The vehicles and generators were originally destined for an assault brigade. But on the eve of our concert in Magdeburg, tragedy struck: a Russian artillery attack wiped out the entire unit. The aid that could no longer reach these fallen soldiers was redirected to those who carry on the fight: the 5th Border Guard Detachment of the Sumy Region. Since the earliest days of the war, these men have stood in the hottest sectors of the front line. In the opening days of the invasion, they were surrounded by Russian forces — a situation that seemed utterly hopeless. Yet, miracles do happen: they survived, broke through the encirclement, and continue to defend their homeland with unwavering heroism to this day.
